Founded in 1911, ASSE is the world's oldest and largest professional safety organization. Its 33,000 plus members manage, supervise and consult on safety, health and environmental issues in industry, insurance, government and education. ASSE has 15 Practice Specialties and 150 chapters in the United States and abroad.
The Central Texas Chapter of the American Society of Safety Engineers includes over 275 safety professionals from various companies and industries in the surrounding area. At monthly meetings, we schedule knowledgeable presenters who speak on current safety, health and environmental issues. The monthly luncheon is a relaxing and enjoyable opportunity to network with other safety professionals and learn of developments in the industry. In addition to our monthly meetings, the Central Texas Chapter produces an informative monthly newsletter, holds various training courses, hosts ASSE teleconference calls and special events throughout the year.
The Central Texas ASSE is governed by an Executive Committee comprised of chapter volunteers and operates under chapter bylaws approved by the ASSE. Chapter officers and board members are elected or appointed to one-year terms. See our chapter's Long-Range Plan. All members are encouraged to volunteer for board or committee positions. For information on how you can help or volunteer for this chapter, contact Lauri Laudano, Chapter President at (512) 324-1000 x11678 or Paul Thomas Leigh, Chapter Secretary, at (512) 699-6771.
